We’re collecting prices from pros for this service.Until we have them, set the most you’ll pay: only pros whose price fits are asked.
- The size of the rooms and the ceiling height
- How much filling and sanding the walls need
- Covering a dark colour or damp stains
- Whether paint is included
- Furniture to move and protect

- Protecting floors and furniture
- Filling small holes and cracks
- Two coats on the agreed surfaces
- Cleaning up afterwards
- Paint, if the pro supplies it
- Treating damp or large cracks
- Removing wallpaper
- Varnishing or lacquering doors and woodwork
When you need it
- When
- Before you move in or out, after damp or a repair, or when the walls look tired.

- A room takes about a day; a small flat, two to three days.

What to tell the pro
- Which rooms and surfaces: walls, ceilings, doors
- Rough sizes, or photos of each room
- The state of the walls: holes, cracks, damp
- The colours, and whether you’re buying the paint
- Whether the home is empty or lived in
What to ask them
- Is paint included, and which kind?
- How many coats?
- Do you fill and sand first?
- How do you protect floors and furniture?
Ask once. Your agent does the asking.
- Say the job, when, and the most you’ll pay. Only your agent sees that number.
- Pros that fit are asked one at a time. You get a price, a counter-offer or a visit first.
- Nothing is booked until you say yes.

How much does painting cost?
It depends on the size, the state of the walls, the colours and whether paint is included. With tabhood you set your maximum and only pros whose price fits are asked.
Do I need to buy the paint?
Only if you want to. Many painters supply it and charge it separately; if you would rather choose it yourself, say so in your request.
Do I need to empty the room?
It helps. Small things are best put away; large furniture usually goes to the middle, covered. Say in your request what stays.
When can I use the room again?
Water-based interior paint is usually dry to the touch within a few hours. Air the room, and ask the painter when you can use it.
What if no pro fits my price?
You see the closest public price and decide. Your request can stay open and we message you when a pro fits.
