What it costs
We’re collecting prices from pros for this service.Until we have them, set the most you’ll pay: only pros whose price fits are asked.

- Height of the hedges and trees
- Whether green waste stays or is taken away
- Whether the gardener brings the machines
What’s included
- Labour for the agreed job
- The gardener’s machines and tools
- Raking up grass and cut branches
- Sweeping paths and the patio afterwards

- Repairing or fitting irrigation
When you need it
- When
- Every two to four weeks in spring and summer; in autumn and winter for pruning and clear-ups.

- One to four hours a visit; an overgrown garden can take a day.

What to tell the pro
- Size of the garden and what is in it: lawn, hedges, trees, beds
- Photos of the garden as it is now
- Whether you want one visit or regular visits
- Whether green waste can stay in a corner
- Whether there is water, an outdoor socket and access from the street
What to ask them
- Do you bring the machines and tools?
- Is taking away green waste included?
- How long do you stay each visit?
- Do you prune tall trees?
Ask once. Your agent does the asking.
- Say the job, when, and the most you’ll pay. Only your agent sees that number.
- Pros that fit are asked one at a time. You get a price, a counter-offer or a visit first.
- Nothing is booked until you say yes.

How much does a gardener cost?
It depends on the size of the garden, its state, what you want done and whether green waste is taken away. With tabhood you set your maximum and only pros whose price fits are asked.
Can I have regular visits?
Yes. Your request can become a tab: before each visit your agent asks, and you say yes or skip.
Do I need to be at home?
Not if the gardener can get into the garden. Say how in your request; you see their terms before you say yes.
What about tall trees?
Pruning or felling tall trees is work at height that needs the right equipment. Say so in your request, so only pros who do it are asked.
What if no pro fits my price?
You see the closest public price and decide. Your request can stay open and we message you when a pro fits.
